so that I didn't have to look at the perpetual mess of
cords and things. (you know of what I speak!) Well, in
the process of putting our computer back together my
poor husband dropped our external hard drive aka:
all of our pictures! He's done several things to try to recover
our files but to no avail. He even looked into sending it in
to a data recovery business...well, it's not pretty. Basically
we can shed a few tears and just forget about the last
2 1/2 years of our lives (we had back up cd's through 2006)
or we could cough up a thousand bucks.
Needless to say things are a little glum around here. Poor
James feels like crap and apologizes all the time. Of course
it's all his fault and I make him own up to it by bringing me
ice cream every day.
(For those of you who don't know me that last statement was
absolutely sarcastic!)
So, while you're reading this uplifting little tale, be glad that
you all have not procrastinated backing up your pictures!

Been there, done that - my friend. Last year, my hard drive quit working and I lost a couple years of photos and videos. I've never been more depressed.
However, I did take it to my tech-savvy brother-in-law who was able to recover half of the stuff. So call everyone that you possibly know that works on computers and surely you will find someone that would be willing to give it a shot. If you don't have any other options, mail it to me and I'll have my bro look at it. :) Good luck!
Holy cow! Oh I am so sorry, that royally sucks! I have heard of phantom things happening like a few months later everything pops back up, so don't hold out hope??!
:( maybe I'll go back up my pictures today.... I only do it about once a year as well, it would be a devastating loss! I think this calls for a girls night consolation dinner!!!!
This makes me want to puke a little. I'm very sorry.
OH No!!! I have a few pictures that you have sent me saved on my computer if you want me to send them back. I'm so sorry I hope you can find someone cheaper that can save your pictures.
