Hospital, Christmas, and other things

Hello blog friends. I hope you all had a wonderful
Christmas. We did. In a way I'm a little sad that it's
over. In another way I'm glad to move on.

We had quite an interesting week. On Monday, Wyatt
and I found ourselves at Children's hospital. The kid
just wasn't growing so his doctor called a GI doctor
who thought it would be a good idea to admit him. sigh.
I got there with the idea (and supplies) that we'd be
there for 24 hours.....well 3 days later they sent us home.
James was home so while he battled the other kids I got
a little vacay....well not really, but I had a lot of time to
think and ponder. So if you don't care, I'm going to
throw out a few things that crossed my mind.

1. Hospital food isn't too bad if one is congested.

2. head IV's are kinda cool.

3. I miss my bed.

4. I miss my kids.

5. I'm grateful!

The last one took my by surprise. Of all the things
to be grateful for the week of Christmas, a hospital
stay is probably not on the top ten list. I felt humble
and had a real sense of God's love for me. It was really
amazing to be the receiver of so many kindnesses and
to have so many prayers offered in our behalf. I felt
bolstered and strengthened by the service offered so
willingly by the members of our ward (aka church family).
I'm overwhelmed at the response of these people. They
had things to do and yet they brought my family meals,
babysat so that James could come out, and the ones that
couldn't were praying for us. Happily, we made it home
just in time for Christmas (the 24th). But the whole
experience reminded me of what the Christmas spirit is.
It's remembering our Savior: His birth, His life, and the
way he lived. I'm grateful I was able to remember that.

......too bad I had to be humbled and not just naturally so.

Happy boxing day folks. And thanks for sticking around.

Evy the Seven year old

Yesterday was my baby girl's birthday! Why is
it that these birthdays come faster and faster
each year? She's 7. Ya, I have a seven year old
.........and it's really weird.

Evelyn: All things sunshiny, honest, thoughtful,
kind, giving, loving, faithful, smart, helpful, trusting,
and beautiful. (can I say that?)
Ah the old sand pail on the head...those were
the days (and future black mail).

I honestly don't know why I was blessed with such
a wonderful girl. Sometimes I feel like I learn more
from her than she learns from me. She's amazing!
And I'm so grateful that she was chosen to come to
my family. Happy birthday Ev!

awww cute widdle baby

Look how big Wyatt has gotten! It's crazy
how fast they grow. One minute they're a
tiny baby the next they're a big kid pretending
to be a baby. Oie!

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving with no pictures! Ya, I totally
forgot my camera...oh well....what are you gonna do?

We had a terrible Thanksgiving: Yucky food, awful
company, and absolutely no fun at all.... (joking mom)
T day is always scrumptious and lovely. I just thought
I'd say something out of the norm. (really mom, I was
kidding.)

I have so much to be thankful for but I truly am grateful
for family. My mom, dad, and sibs and especially my own
little clan. Oh well....mush mush mush lovey lovey.

I hope you all had a fantastic T day too....full of family and
pie!

Ok, I've decided that I'm feeling pretty crafty
and slightly crazy so, on my "project blog" up
until about a week before Christmas I'm going
to be posting easy homemade gift ideas and
tutorials. I just thought I'd let you all know....
just in case.

My family

I was thinking...wouldn't it be cool to have your own
personal photographer to just follow you and your
family around and capture those elusive moments that
always seem to go away as soon as the camera comes out?
Whew...that was a mouthful! Anyway, we had our
portraits done last week and that's mostly what I wanted.
Semi posed and lots of personality!

I think I love them!
