Christmas Vacation

Christmas found us traveling once again.
After being stuck in Denver last year, we vowed
never to travel during Christmas again. But I
suppose we're gluttons for punishment! We
started in a little town in Mississippi a few days
before Christmas. Of course before we could get
to my folks' house Spencer managed to throw-up
3 times! I'll tell you what, cleaning that up is not
the most joyful part of parenthood! The kids were
grateful to be out of the car. I guess being in a car
seat for 6 hours starts to get pretty "boring".
We had such a great time though! It was a mad
house of course but that was half the fun. All my
siblings camped out at mom and dad's. We ended
up being short on port-a-cribs so Madelin slept in
an "under the bed"storage box! I didn't mind though.
We had a great time with my family. After keeping
the secret from the kids for a couple months, we
told them about our trip to Utah. We had saved
that bit of information for Christmas morning
being as how that was a huge part of our Christmas.
So after presents and Santa we loaded up and
took off for the airport. Now the airport isn't too far
from my parents' home but we still managed to
get to the luggage check only 30 minutes to take
off! The whole flying thing is kinda overrated when
out of the 6 people four of them are under six years old!
We made it to Utah all in one piece and then drove
the last 20 minutes of our trip to James' parents
house. Again, chaotic, but wonderful! Evelyn and
Caitlin got along so well with their cousins this time
around. I loved every minute of it! You know,
we really didn't do anything special in particular,
but just spending time with family was really
all I wanted. All in all our trip was wonderful
except for the fact that we all contracted the
"super plague". That was fun!
